Talk on IETF Video Standards

I gave a talk entitled IETF Video Standards: A review, some history, and some reflections, at the workshop on "Are Networks Ready for Next Generation Video?" organised by Huawei, and held in Berlin on 26-27 September 2016.

This talk gives a brief review of the Internet multimedia standards developed in the IETF over the past several years, including media transport, session description, signalling, and path layer protocols. It compares these to HTTP adaptive streaming, and reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches.
