Standards Contributions

I was previously co-chair of the Audio/Video Transport (AVT) and Multiparty Multimedia Session Control (MMUSIC) working groups of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). I'm active in several other working groups in the IETF, serve on the IETF Transport Area Directorate, and have contributed to the Moving Picture Experts Group of the International Standards Organisation.

I'm author of RTP: Audio and Video for the Internet (Addison-Wesley, 2003). This book describes protocols and algorithms for real-time multimedia over IP networks, combining standards and research experience to give a practical guide for those implementing telephony, conferencing and streaming media applications.
